Squatters

Gee. There's been a party here all right. All those Comments. All these empty bottles too. Nuts. Crisps. Party poppers. Someone's swept up though, and nothing seems to be broken. It could have been worse I guess. At least there wasn't any fighting.

Right. Lower myself gently into my chair in front of the computer. Flex the fingers. Been a while. What will I write about? So much happening in the world. Got to get the brain into gear again. Start posting. See if there's anyone out there.

Right now I'm a little lost. Lacking confidence. So much to say but everyone's shouting these days. I doubt if anyone will hear me. Somehow in my absence the world seems to have become a less friendly place.

I've had a quick look round the other blogs. Skint's stopped. Sand Storm too. I find that sad somehow. Maybe blogging isn't important after all. Maybe the party's moved on.

I'll just go and have a look and see if there's any whisky left. Time for a bit of quiet reflection. Through the bottom of a glass. Darkly.

Yea!!! You're back, alive and well and blogging. All those other bloggers -- the ones that quit -- are whimps. I know 'cuz I'm one of 'em.

Do have a whiskey, but don't get depressed. Life is good, really -- it's just a miracle to be alive and have a chance to live a life. Children have zest and enthusiasm -- then we/they lose it -- and we/they become dull, colorless and boring. The enthusiasm is squeeeeezed out of us. Well, I'm injecting mine back in. And you can, too.

  4. Hiya, Bill! PHEW! Thank god you're back. And just in time! These people get scary when you're not here.

I have a plethora of ideas you can blog about if you're in need. Also, sometimes? I find a glass of wine (or 10) really helps.

Also, just for the record: I was the "anonymous" person yesterday who posted the same post 2 or 3 different times. But I swear I had not had one DROP of wine yesterday. That was the drunk guys running blogger.

Blogger should really do something about them.

    Welcome back!

Welcome home, Bill. Maybe some darkly is what we need--you can only get so far on karaoke. Your patented unthusiasm may be just the ticket.

Was afraid you'd been maurauded by sheep.

  7. At last! (Breathes sigh of relief.)

But wait ... please don't feel lost. The shouting's over and we can hear you loud and clear.

And we did take care to clear up after ourselves, didn't we?

Please can we do it all again but with you here this time?

  8. I'm not sure that I like you being back. I don't like change. I had adjusted to checking your blog less frequently and seeing that same-old safe text... 'Signing off.' But now I suppose I'll have to come and say hello AGAIN, more often, AGAIN, and do what bloggers mostly do, i.e., leave inane comments like this and then run off again.

I don't know what's with all the Italian smut, but--in case no one noticed--none of the links work. Can we get a techie here please?

    I smell a rat.

  13. Hello Pundy - glad to see you made it back safe and sound! I hope your trip was enjoyable and that you're going to post some stuff about that!

Did you enjoy the end of the party?

As Debi says, we did clean up, sort of...

Happy New Year, and the bottom of the glass looks nice for a while, but not for ever! Nice to have you back!

    Ah.
    Ugh.
    Ohhhhhh.
You know when you've been blogging too long and you get up and part of your arse stays on the seat?
    Welcome back.
